Every product in the world at the present moment is a product of much pondering and hard work. A lot has to be done in order that the product in its later stages is a fine thing that owes much to its predecessors and is a greatly advanced item by the time the world comes to know of it in its best forms. The story is quiet the same in case of Fountain Pens and people think that the product made its appearance out of the blue and the truth is something that is starkly different. The very first modulation of a pen or a ink writer was in the form of wood needles that were extremely functional and were used from the time of the ancient cave man for the express purpose of making the paintings in his surroundings that have survived the test of time and are still present in several interior caves and jungle walls.
The later versions of the pen were made from reeds and water plant stems. These were recorded as used in the early times of the civilized Egyptians as the mode for recording their history in the notepads made out of Papyrus. The quill or the feather was a rather later development and became popular from the time of the early Aryans and the Chinese dynasties have preserved some of the most ancient quills and feather pens to the present day and take immense pride in their achievement.
The fountain pen was designed as early as the late seventeenth century and were used by a selective p-population in the districts of England and the most ancient fountain pen of all times is preserved in the British Museum of Whales. This is recorded as manufactured in the year 1744. To think of it that the pen has still retained some of its most ancient designs in the form of the barrel still available in the open market is a matter of immense pride and aesthetic testimony. Waterman finally worked upon the fountain in the nineteenth century and he brought out the modern and more applaud able designs into the world. Montblanc launched the fountain pens into the markets for the first time in 1906 and there has been no looking back.
