As already given the fact that fountain pen has achieved the utmost popularity in the world. With time proceeding there is a massive breakthrough in the design and fashion of fountain pens. It is a long march it has covered. Its venture began a way back to 10th century when the society was reserved and there was the enriched class called elite society. During that royal supremacy, the fountain pen was dazzling in the hands of princes. At that time there was a great demand for fountain pens.

Daniel Schwenter, a German scholar manufactured the fantastic fountain pen. His created fountain pen was designed with the provision of double quill. Out of two, one quill was the bladder of the ink. This quill was again embedded inside the large quill. Thereafter, it faced experiments and changes. In the year of 1870, Duncan Mackinnon of New York and Alonzo T. Cross of Providence, RI took bold steps to create new stylographic fountain pens which featured point nib instead of split nib. In January 1890, American William B. Purvis was awarded the patent for the creation of ink fed fountain pens.
Later in 1907, Waterman offered a new fountain pen with a retractable point that reduced the risk of the ink leakage. This fountain pen is considered to be the most popular and upgraded pens in the world. So far as the overall structure of the pen is concerned, the tip of a fountain pen is a nib which lets ink come out. Fountain pens having nibs ranging from delicate to broadened width. In 1957, Platinum first brought fountain pens that were fed on ink. During 1960 and 1970, Platinum took initiative to make leather pens called Amazonas.
