Daniel Schwenter was a scientist living in German made the elegant fountain pen. His created fountain pen having the special feature of double quill. Out of two, one quill was the bladder of the ink. With his excellent intelligence and determination he created fountain pen featuring bird feathered fountain. His newly invented fountain pen was designed with double quill.

Thereafter, it was advanced and enriched by the experienced pen manufacturers. In the year of 1870, Duncan Mackinnon of New York and Alonzo T. Cross of Providence, RI raised a new revolution in stylographic fountain pens which featured point nib instead of split nib. In January 1890, American William B. Purvis was selected to have the patent for the manufacturing of ink feeding fountain pens. Later in 1907, Waterman upgraded a new fountain pen with a retractable point that reduce the ink leakage. This fountain pen is considered to be the most recognized and upgraded pens in the world. The tip of a fountain pen is called as a nib which lets ink flow out. Fountain pens were available with nibs ranging from fine to broadened width. In 1957, Platinum first brought ink fed fountain pens . During 1960 and 1970, Platinum took initiative to make leather pens called Amazonas.
