It is amply explicit that fountain pen has achieved boundless fame and honor in the world. With the advent of technological advancement and scientific revolution there is a massive switchover in the design and fashion of fountain pens. It is a long distance hierarchy of fountain pen has covered. Its journey began a way back to 10th century when the society was built on the essence of religious dogmas and black magic. During that the impact of monarchic realm, the noble persons like to use fountain pens for the expression of their inner feelings. . At that time a precious jewel studded fountain pain with the artistic finery was the symbol of aristocracy.
Daniel Schwenter, a German scientist enchanted people through the creation of the majestic fountain pen. His unique fountain pen was cynosure of attraction which was equipped with double quill. Out of two, one quill was considered to be the reservoir of the ink. This quill was placed inside the large quill. In the year of 1870, Duncan Mackinnon of New York and Alonzo T. Cross of Providence, RI benefited people stylographic fountain pens which featured point nib without split nib. In January 1890, American William B. Purvis was eligible for the patent of the manufacturing of ink fed fountain pens. Later in 1907, Waterman earned much popularity creating a new fountain pen with a retractable point that lowered the possibility of the ink leakage. This fountain pen is most upgraded model. This invention held his name in high esteem.
So far as the structure of the pen is concerned, the tip of a fountain pen is called nib which forces the flow of ink without any occlusion. Fountain pens having nibs ranging from fine to broadened width. In 1957, Platinum first felt the urgency to invent fountain pens that were fed on ink. During 1960 and 1970, Platinum also launched leather pens called Amazonas. The classic fountain pen was considered to be first size manufactured in 1976.
