There is an old saying that ‘pen is mightier than the sword’. A person’s inner capability can get flourished only with the touch of marvelous writing. With fountain pens writers with virtuoso help creating revolution and liberty in the mind of common people. So fountain pen has become history itself. In other words, it divulges it’s majestic and glamorous past history through the write ups of those highly educated personalities.
The history of fountain pen started back to 10th century, when fountain pen was used in the form of soft feather. It contained two quills- one small size quill was used as the reservoir of ink which lay inside the large quill. Daniel Schwenter, a German national invented the first workable fountain pen. Then during the mid 1800, the fountain pen after modification came into the market with a new design. This new fountain pen was designed with the gold nib, hard and much durable rubber and smooth flowing ink just like a natural cascade. Later Duncan MacKinnon of New York and Alonzo T. Cross of Providence, RI manufactured stylo-graphic pens that were decorated with a hollow cylinder like nib which was again fitted with an ink valve. In January 1890, American William B. Purvis got the patent of first ink feeding fountain tube. Later in 1907, Waterman created a pen with a drawn back point that having control over the ink reservoir like a bottle. The new high graded qualitative model invented by Waterman is much popular breaking time barrier.
